Venus Williams has clawed her way back up the world rankings and now bids to reach her first Wimbledon final since 2009. The number eight seed has only lost two sets on her way to this semi-final match. Her toughest battle being against Daria Kasatkina where she was taken to 10-8 in the final set. Fourth seed Angelique Kerber is bidding to win her second Grand Slam of the year after victory in the Australian Open. She's yet to drop a set at Wimbledon this year but had a really close game against Simona Halep in the quarter finals winning 7-5 7-6. Her record against Williams  is good with three wins in five meetings. Their only match on grass was at Wimbledon four years ago, not in these championships but the Olympic tennis tournament with Kerber winning in straight sets. Williams won their last meeting two years ago but Kerber has three wins in the last four. The German is in great form at present and can get the win over Venus to most likely set up a final against her sister Serena.
