Kazakhstan take on Spain in Group C of the United Cup team tournament. This group is being played in Perth and also to be faced are Greece. Can Kazakhstan get off to a winning start? Read our match prediction.

This tournament sees ties played over the best of three matches. There's a men's singles, women's singles and a mixed doubles if required. Kazakhstan are being represented by Alexander Shevchenko and Elena Rybakina in the singles.

They will be relying a great deal on Rybakina in this tournament as she's currently world ranked sixth in the world. Her last match was in the WTA Finals when getting a win over world number one Aryna Sabalenka.  Alexander Shevchenko reached a quarter-final in October and is the world number 78.

There's no Carlos Alcaraz in the Spanish side and of course Rafa Nadal has now retired. Their main singles player is Pablo Carreno Busta (ranked 178) and he struggled towards the end of  last season with six defeats in eight matches.

Their women's singles player is Jessica Bouzaz Maneiro who is ranked 54th. The Spaniard has only won three of her last eight matches with one quarter-final appearance. We tip Kazakhstan to get the win in this tie.
