The quarter-finals saw her beat two-time champion Tatjana Maria and in the last four, Julia Riera was beaten in straight sets. The 23-year-old Colombian is 61st in the live rankings and winning this final will take her back to the 54th she was in the last rankings.
Katarzyna Kawa is back in the world's top 200 after this run to the Bogota final. The 32-year-old Pole is up to 156th in the live list. This is her second WTA Tour final, the other was also on clay but ended in defeat six years ago.
Kawa has had to win six matches to reach this title decider. Twice she has to come from a set down to win a match this week. That includes when beating top seed Marie Bouzkova in the quarter-finals. The last four saw her beat fellow qualifier Julieta Pareja in straight sets.
