Karolina Pliskova vs Jil Teichmann Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Cincinnati Open

Karolina Pliskova bids to reach her second successive final and a third in four tournaments. The fifth seed takes on unseeded Jil Teichman for a place in the final of the Western & Southern Open. Pliskova has reached three previous finals this year (including the Wimbledon final) and lost all of them. Her last tournament victory was in January 2020, when winning in Brisbane. Earlier this year Pliskova dropped out of the top ten but her results in Cincinnati this week have her up to fourth. Wins have come against Yulia Putintseva, Jessica Pegula (finally, after losing four times to her this year) and Paula Badosa, with all the wins coming in straight sets. A win here could see a repeat of the Wimbledon final if Barty beats Kerber in the other semi-final.

Jil Teichmann began this week ranked 76th but is up to 53rd in the live rankings. Earlier this year, Tieichmann reached her highest ever ranking of 40th. That was achieved after reaching semi-finals in both Adelaide and Dubai. Her form dipped after that success though and before this week had won just three out of ten matches. Her form has returned this week with wins over Sorana Cirstea, Bernardo Pera and then knocking out seeds Naomi Osaka and Belinda Bencic. This is her first match against Pliskova and it's her more consistent opponent who can win this match.
