Karolina Muchova vs Jennifer Brady Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Australian Open

It seems almost compulsory that a women's Grand Slam singles final has to have an unexpected finalist. That's going to to be the case in the Australian Open as 25th seeded Karolina Muchova takes on Jennifer Brady who is seeded three places above her. Muchova is in her first Grand Slam semi-final after knocking out top seeded Ashleigh Barty on Wednesday. Her only previous quarter final appearance in a Grand Slam had been at the 2018 Wimbledon Championships. Muchova did reach the fourth round of the US Open last year and has built on that good run. So far in this tournament, she has beaten two of the top six seeds after previously beating Karolina Pliskova in the third round. The quarter final saw her get her best win as she beat world number one and top home hope Ashleigh Barty. That didn't look likely when she lost the first set 6-1 but she recovered to win the next two for the loss of five games.

Jennifer Brady  had never played in a Grand Slam quarter final before last year's US Open. Since the circuit resumed after a long break, Brady has been a tough player to beat. She won the Top Seed tournament in Lexington and then reached the semi-final of the US Open. Another semi-final in the Czech Republic followed and began 2021 with a last four appearance in the Grampians Trophy. Brady hadn't lost a set in this tournament until dropping the opening one in her quarter final against Jessica Pegula. The American fought back though and only lost three games in the next two sets.  Brady can get to her first Grand Slam final with a win over Muchova.
