Two unseeded players Jurij Rodionov and Zizou Bergs will face off on Saturday in the semifinals at the Surbiton Trophy. Jurij Rodionov is up 13 places to number 121 in the live ranking following his 2-0 win over Gabriel Diallo in the quarterfinals. The win was his 26th of the season in 41 matches played and continued his unbeaten start to his grass-court campaign. Despite a topsy-turvy campaign, Rodionov has claimed one title thus far. The Austrian has struggled over the years on grass and has never finished with a winning record since making his debut in 2016. Last season he lost to Bergs on the surface and this should have him wary despite dominating in Surbiton where he is yet to drop a set. Rodionov is in the semis here for the first time and before this season he had never gone past the second round.

Zizou Bergs defeated Rodionov on his way to winning the Ilkley Trophy challenger in 2022, a season that saw him make his debut on grass. He will be confident of managing another victory as he has also been in fine form in Surbiton. Bergs is yet to relinquish a set and in the previous round defeated Constant Lestienne to earn his 17th victory of the season. The Belgian has however endured a turbulent year and before arriving in Surbiton, had won the same amount of matches as he had lost. Bergs is down three places in the live ranking to number 134 despite his win over Lestienne. The 24-year-old is in his debut tournament here and has claimed one title so far despite his struggles. A place in the final against either defending champion Jordan Thompson or second seed Andy Murray awaits the winner.
