Julia Riera vs Linda Noskova Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Brisbane

Linda Noskova is looking for another deep run in Australia. The world number 40 takes on qualifier Julia Riera for a place in the last eight of the Brisbane Int ernational. The winner will be up against unseeded opposition in the quarter finals, either Mirra Andreeva or wild card Arina Rodionova. Last year saw Noskova reach the final of the Adelaide International, losing to Aryna Sabalenka. 2023 had begun with Noskova ranked 102nd but she's risen up the rankings since then. The 19-year-old also reached a final in Prague five months ago. Both finals were in hard court tournaments and that's the surface this event is being played on. The Czech also got to the last 16 of the Western & Southern Open with wins over Liudmila Samsonova and Petra Kvitova. Two matches have been won so far by her in this Brisbane International. Wins have come against qualifier Timea Babos and tenth seed Soryana Cirstea, both in three sets. Wins are needed by her though as she's defending so many points from January 2023 and is down to 62nd in the live rankings.

Julia Riera was ranked a career high 137th at the start of this tournament but is up to 121st in the live rankings. The Argentinian had to play two qualifiers to get into the main draw. That was achieved but both of her qualifying matches required a final set after losing the first. In round one of the Brisbane International, Riera beat unseeded Vikroriya Tomova and then caused a shock by knocking out seventh seeded Ekaterina Alexandrova. Towards the end of last year she showed good form in WTA 125 and ITF events but on clay rather than hard courts. We tip Noskova to make it into the last eight.
