Fourth seed Taylor Fritz takes on unseeded Jordan Thompson in the Cinch Championships quarter-finals. In the semi-finals, the winner of this match will face unseeded opposition as Fritz is the only seed left in the bottom half of the draw. That took him into a second round match against Andy Murray and that had a swift ending. Thompson was 4-1 up in the first set when his opponent retired with an injury. The Australian is up to 40th in the live rankings and 37th in the ATP Live Race.. Thompson has reached two ATP Tour grass court finals, both in the Netherlands where he lost last week. The most recent of those losses was in 2023. On the Challenger Tour, he's won the Surbiton title, reached another final there and also been beaten in the Nottingham title decider.
