Unseeded Jordan Thompson and world number 738 Milos Raonic will on Thursday meet in the second round at the Libema Open. The winner of this match will play either top seed Daniil Medvedev or unseeded Adrian Mannarino in the quarterfinals. Jordan Thompson defeated the qualifier Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard 2-0 in the first round to win his fourth match on grass out of five. His record for the season stands at 23 wins and 13 losses. The Australian has so far claimed two titles in 2023, both in the challenger circuit. He is up three places in the live ranking to number 100.

Milos Raonic is using a protected ranking as he makes his return back from a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to injury. The Canadian had been out since July 2021 before he took on fifth seed Miomir Kecmanovic in the first round. He won the match in straight sets, losing seven games in the process. He will be confident of making it two wins in a row in Hertogenbosch especially as he has defeated Thompson before.
