Jack Draper has a tough draw in the National Bank Open which is being played in Montreal on a hard court. The British player faces Jordan Thompson in round one with the winner taking on second seed Alexander Zverev next. Here's our match prediction.

Draper is ranked 28th in the world and looking likely to be seeded at the US Open when that gets underway later this month. He had a good grass season with a title victory in Stuttgart. Recent form has dipped a little with second round losses at both Wimbledon and the Olympics.

His form on hard courts this year, he's reached a final in Adelaide and the last four in Acapulco. This is his first match against Jordan Thompson who has been in good form in recent weeks. That includes getting to the final in Atlanta.

He followed that up with a run to the last eight in Washington last week. The Australian is now a career-high 30th in the world rankings. He's had solid form on hard courts throughout the year. The Los Cabos tournament was won in February with wins over Alexander Zverev and Casper Ruud.

Thompson also beat Rafael Nadal in the early weeks of the year. He looks to be in better form than his opponent at present. We tip him to beat Draper.
