Jordan Thompson caused an upset in round two of the Paris Masters with a win over Casper Ruud. He now takes on fellow unseeded player Adrian Mannarino for a place in the last eight of this indoor hard court tournament. Time for our match prediction.

Thompson is up to a career-high 27th and beating Mannarino will see him climb another couple of places. The Australian beat unseeded Pedro Martinez in round one and then recorded his second recent win over seventh seed Casper Ruud.

He had to come from behind to win that match and is in the third round of this Masters event for only the second time. He trails Mannarino 5-3 in previous meetings but has won two of the last three and leads 2-1 in hard court matches.

Adrian Mannarino has had an up and down year. He was 17th in the world nine months ago but was only 58th in the latest rankings. The summer saw him on a long losing streak and he'd lost four of his previous five matches before this tournament.

The French player has shown improved form in Paris with wins over 11th seed Tommy Paul and lucky loser Zizou Bergs. He won the latter in three sets after losing the first. We tip Thompson to win this.
