Jodie Burrage vs Kimberly Birrell Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Indian Wells

Kimberly Birrell is the 20th seed in the Indian Wells qualifying rounds. The Australian takes on Jodie Burrage for a place in the final qualifying round of this Masters event. Waiting in the next round are either Nao Hibino or eighth seed Kamila Rakhimova. Birrell begins this Indian Wells tournament ranked  a career high 115th which is 18 places above her opponent. The 24-year-old started this year ranked 173rd  but began her climb up the rankings when beating 31st seed Kaia Kanepi in the Australian Open first round. Her run ended in round two with a loss to Linda Fruhvirtova. Last month saw her win the ITF tournament held in Orlando. Her most recent tournament was back on the WTA Tour in Merida where she reached the last eight. That good run included a win over Varvara Gracheva who's just lost in the final of the ATX Open to Marta Kostyuk.

Jodie Burrage is ranked 133rd in the world which is seven places below her career high of 126th achieved last November. This year began well for the English player with a run to the final of the ITF tournament held in Canberra losing to fellow English player Katie Boulter. Burrage lost in the thrid qualifying round of the Australian Open and didn't play again until last week's ATX Open in Austin. That didn't last long for her though as Burrage lost in the first qualifying round to Robin Montgomery (ranked 189th) in straight sets. Birrell is in the better form and can make her way into the final qualifying round.
