Get ready for an explosive Light Heavyweight showdown at UFC 311 as two former Champions and the current second and third-ranked fighters at that weight meet up. Jiri “BJP” Prochazka faces Jamahal “Sweet Dreams” Hill in a fight so close that predictions about who will win the match are split almost 50/50.
Despite being a year younger than his opponent, Prochazka has far more experience in MMA, having already fought 36 times, winning 30, and an impressive 26 by knockout. He has lost just five times, although the last two defeats have come against current champion Alex Pereira in Light Heavyweight title fights.
Prochazka is known for his incredibly fast starts, none of his first nine fights went beyond the first round and although he hasn’t had a first round stoppage in any of his last six fights, he has 26 first-round wins or losses in his 36-fight career.
Facing him is the 33-year-old Jamahal Hill. The native of Chicago has had 15 MMA fights, winning 12 and losing two with one no-contest. Like Prochazka, he won the UFC Lightweight World Title by defeating Glover Texeira but then lost it in his next fight against Alex Pereira.
Seven of his dozen wins have come via knockout, with five by decision. With two big punchers going head to head and another world title fight on the line, this should be a blistering contest.
