Third seed Frances Tiafoe is set to take on unseeded Jiri Lehecka in the second round of the Stuttgart Open. The winner of this Wednesday encounter will play either sixth-seed Lorenzo Musetti or unseeded Gregoire Barrere next. Jiri Lehecka has a record of 22 wins and 15 losses so far this season. His latest win was the come-from-behind 2-1 success over Marcos Giron in the first round. It was his first win on grass since making his debut on the surface last season and came in his fourth match. The win secured another first for him as he is now up to 35th place in the live ranking, a new career high.

This will be the first ever meeting between the two. Tiafoe made his debut on grass in 2016 and will hope this inspires him to a better showing here. A regular on the grass court, Tiafoe has compiled a 21-17 record. This will however be his first match on grass this season. He arrives in Stuttgart for his debut after his third-round elimination at Roland Garros. The American is having a strong season and so far has won 23 of the 32 matches he has played. His performances this year have seen him win one Singles title as well as move up to 12th place in the ATP world ranking.
