Jil Teichmann vs Veronika Kudermetova Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Dubai Tennis Championships

It's been an up and down week so far for Jill Tiechmann in Dubai. The world number 36 lost in the qualifiers but was given a place in the main draw as a lucky loser. Now the Swiss player is in the quarter finals and faces Veronika Kudermetova. Tiechmann won two qualifiers before being beaten in straight sets by Katerina Siniakova, who went on to lose to Garbine Muguruza in the first round. Tiechmann was given a reprieve after late withdrawals and has so far had main draw wins over Elise Mertens and then tenth seeded Elina Svitolina, both in straight sets. Tiechmann had a great run in Dubai last year, reaching the semi-finals  This year hasn't gone well so far for Tiechmann with three out of four matches lost before this week. Her most recent tournament was in St Petersburg last week and there were signs of a revival in form. Tiechmann lost to eventual winner Anett Kontaveit but took her to three sets.

Veronika Kudermetova is the world number 31 and has already reached one final this year. That was in Melbourne, where she lost to Simona Halep. It may have been a different story if Naomi Osaka hadn't withdrawn from their semi-final. Kudermetova didn't beat anyone in the top 50 in that tournament. The Russian then made it to the third round of the Australian Open and lost in straight sets to Maria Sakkari. Since that Grand Slam, her only tournament was in St Petersburg last week, losing to Belinda Bencic. She's certainly been in form this week though with wins over Victoria Azarenka and then coming from a set down to defeat fourth seed (and defending champion) Garbine Muguruza. Kudermetova has had two previous matches against Tiechmann and won them both. The most recent was in 2019 and both matches went to three sets. Kudermetova looks in the better form and can get a win here, it may take three sets though.
