Fourth seed Wang Xinyu faces qualifier Jil Teichmann in the last eight of the outdoor hard court Singapore Tennis Open. The winner will take on either second seed Elise Mertens or sixth-seeded Camila Osorio in the semi-finals. Here's our match prediction.

Wang Xinyu is the world number 35 but down to 37th in the live rankings. That's because the Chinese player is about to lose the points earned when reaching the last four in the Thailand Open 12 months ago.

This year has started slowly for her with no main draw wins in her first three tournaments of the year. This week has seen the 23-year-old beat Rebecca Marino (in three sets) and qualifier Maya Joint in straight sets.

Jil Teichmann was at 128th in the last ranking list and now up to 117th. The former world number 27 (back in July 2022)  had to win two qualifying matches to get into the main draw and did so without losing a set. Round one of the main draw saw her defeat Britain's Harriet Dart with just four games dropped.

In the last round, Teichmann beat Olivia Gadecki, again in straight sets. There's been one previous meeting with her opponent and that was lost in straight sets two years ago. We tip Wang Xinyu to win this.
