Jessica Pegula vs McCartney Kessler Prediction & Betting Tips - ATX Open

We have an all-American final in the outdoor hard court ATX Open in Austin, Texas. Top seed Jessica Pegula faces fifth-seeded McCartney Kessler. Who’ll win the title? Here’s our match prediction.

This is Pegula’s second final of the year, the other being in Adelaide two months ago. The American is fourth in the rankings and tenth in the Live Race. 

Pegula has had to win three matches to reach this final and has done so without facing a seeded player. Wins have come against Nuria Parrizas Dias, Anna Blinkova and Ajla Tomljanovic, the latter in three sets.

McCartney Kessler is looking to add this title to the Hobart International triumph she had in January. It had been a struggle for the 25-year-old to build on that title win and no other quarter-finals had been reached until this week.

Like her opponent, Kessler has reached this final without meeting a seeded player. In fact, this match is the only one all week that will be contested between two seeds. Kessler is also in the doubles final.

The American has dropped sets against Cristina Bucsa and Sorana Cirstea this week. Saturday's semi-final saw her beat Greet Minnen in straight sets. Kessler is up to 48th in the live rankings. In the Live Race, she’s currently in 19th place.
