Jessica Pegula vs Iga Swiatek Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Miami

Iga Swiatek bids to reach her third consecutive final. The second seed takes on Jessica Pegula who is seeded 16th for the Miami Masters. Swiatek is in amazing form at present having won her last two tournaments in Doha and Indian Wells. When the new ranking list comes out, the 20-year-old Pole will take over from the retired Ashleigh Barty as the world number one. Swiatek is already clear at the top of the WTA Race based on the number of ranking points earned in 2022. The Pole has won 15 successive matches and the last seven have all been won in straight sets. Swiatek has only dropped 15 games in her four straight sets wins in this tournament.

Jessica Pegula is world ranked 21st but up to 13th in the live rankings.  That will be a career high ranking for the American who has never been higher than 14th. Pegula reached the quarter finals of the Australian Open this year despite failing to win any matches in her two warm-up events. She had a win over Maria Sakkari before being beaten by eventual champion Ashleigh Barty. It's not been too successful a year since then with two last 16s and a last 64 at Indian Wells. This tournament has gone better though with wins over Sloane Stephens, Elena Rybakina, Anhelina Kalinina (without losing a game) and Paula Badosa. It's not been too difficult though as Kalinina lost the first set 6-0 and then retired, while Badosa was 4-1 down in the first set before her retirement. Pegula has had one previous match against Swiatek and won that in three sets. That was played three years ago though when Swiatek was only ranked 66th. It's all diifferent now and you can back the Pole to win this in straight sets.
