Jessica Pegula is one match away from only her second clay court final. The top seed faces eighth-seeded Ekaterina Alexandrova in the last four of the Charleston Open. Here's our match prediction.

Pegula has the chance to climb from fourth in the rankings to third if she wins Sunday's final. The American's only previous clay court final was in 2022 and last year saw her play just a couple of tournaments on this surface.

One of those was here in Charleston with Pegula being beaten in the semi-final. So far this week, the top seed has beaten Iryna Shymanovich, Ajla Tomljanoivic and defending champion Danielle Collins. Three sets were needed to get past the seventh seed.

World number 26 Ekaterina Alexandrova won just one match out of eight on clay in 2024. The ninth seed has already won one hard court title this year and is now going well on clay. Two seeds have already been beaten by her this week.

Sixth seed Diane Shnaider and third-seeded Qinwen Zheng have been beaten with only eight games lost. There have been three previous meetings between these two players and Alexandrova leads 2-1  

One was played on clay and Pegula won that in straight sets. We tip Alexandrova to win a set in this match.
