Before last year's US Open, Jennifer Brady had never made it past the fourth round of a Grand Slam. The American reached the last four in New York and a win over Jessica Pegula will see her in another semi-inal. Brady took six years to get past the fourth round but it wasn't a surprise how well she played in New York. Brady had won the Top Seed tournament in Lexington. Her opponent is ranked 61st in the world and this is her best performance in a Grand Slam event. It's the first time she had made it past the third round and regularly loes in the first couple of rounds. 2021 has been good to her so far with a last sixteen in the Yarra Valley Classic and took a set off Sofia Kenin. Last year she lost in the final of he ASB Classic in New Zealand to Serena Williams so must enjoy her trips down under. So far in this tournament, Pegula has beaten Victoria Azarenka, Samantha Stosur and fifth seeded Elina Svitolina. That's good form but Brady has become a player who is difficult to beat and she can get the win .
