Fourth seed Jasmine Paolini faces unseeded Jelena Ostapenko in round three of the Qatar TotalEnergies Open. The winner of this outdoor hard court match goes into the quarter-finals of this WTA 1000 tournament. Here's our match prediction.

Paolini is ranked fourth in the world but a win here will see the Italian in her first singles quarter-final of the year. Her previous best in 2025 has been making it to round three of the Australian Open where she was beaten by Eliina Svitolina.

So far in Doha, Paolini has beaten wild card Caroline Garica in straight sets for the loss of seven games.

Jelena Ostpenko is up to 36th in the live rankings after winning two matches in this tournament. The 27-year-old has defeated qualifier Aoi Ito and 16th-seeded Liudmila Samsonova. The latter was won in straight sets but 25 games were played.

Ostapenko had lost her last three matches before this tournament got underway. It's been a struggle for her for a while and this is the first time she's won two matches in a WTA Tour event since Wimbledon last July.
