Jelena Ostapenko vs Coco Gauff Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA US Open

20th seeded Jelena Ostapenko attempts to knock out another top ten ranked player. After beating Iga Swiatek (again), the Latvian faces sixth seeded Coco Gauff for a place in the last four of the US Open. The winner will be up against either tenth seeded Karolina Muchova or 30th seed Sorana Cirstea for a place in the final. Ostapenko is in her fifth Grand Slam quarter final, the first since this year's Australian Open. Before this year though she'd never got past round three at Flushing Meadows and not won a match in New York since 2019. Her run to this quarter final has taken her up to 15th in the live rankings and a win here could take her up to 11th place. Aside from the Australian Open, this is only her second hard court quarter final of the year. it's been a tough route to the last eight with all four of her matches going to a final set. The last two matches have seen her have to come from behind to get the win. 

There have been two previous meetings between Gauff and Ostapenko. The American beat Ostapenko in the Linz final four years ago but Ostapenko beat her in this year's Australian Open. Gauff has been in excellent form in recent weeks and has won titles in Washington and Cincinnati, making it three tournament wins this year all on hard courts. Gauff is fifth in the world rankings and in the same position in the Live WTA Race. It's also been a difficult task to reach her second successive US Open quarter final. It's the fifth of her career and she's still a teenager. Three of her matches have gone to a final set and that includes her last 16 win over Caroline Wozniacki.
