Jelena Ostapenko, the 13th seed at Wimbledon, will play 31st seed Barbora Krejcikova in the quarter-finals on Tuesday. The winner of this encounter will play Elena Rybakina or Elina Svitolina in the semis. Here are the stats and a prediction for the game.

Ostapenko has often dominated whenever paired up against Krejcikova. She has won five of seven meetings and is currently on a three-match winning run in this fixture. Their last encounter, played last season, was their only showdown on grass. It was the championship match in Birmingham and resulted in Ostapenko winning another tour crown on grass.

Ostapenko, a semi-finalist at the All England Club in 2018, defeated Yulia Putintseva in the fourth round. She won in straight sets to maintain her record of not dropping a set in this year’s edition. Ostapenko’s run in London has seen her move back into the WTA’s top 10. Barbora Krejcikova has witnessed an upturn in form after the season switched to grass. The Czech number two saw her form dip in the early part of the season due to fitness issues. A back injury forced her to miss a huge chunk of the season.

When she returned to play on clay she couldn’t master a win. This has however not been the case on grass, as six of her 11 victories have come in eight outings on the surface. Krejcikova, who is playing past the fourth round at SW19 for the first time, defeated Danielle Collins to achieve this feat.

She won in straight sets for the third successive round. Advancing to this round has moved the former French Open champion, to 21st in the live ranking.
