The round of 64 in the ATP Shanghai Masters sees 15th-seeded Cameron Norrie taking on unseeded JJ Wolf. The winner of this matchup earns a spot in the round of 32 against either Matteo Arnaldi or 21st-seed Jan-Lennard Struff. JJ Wolf came back from losing the first set to win 2-1 against Pedro Cachin in the first round to advance to this stage. The victory was his third in the past four appearances after his Beijing Open performance which saw him win two qualifiers and lose in the first round. Cameron Norrie started out the year red hot but has since cooled off considerably. He would then go on to make the quarter-finals of the BNP Paribas Open in the very next event. All together, Norrie went on a three tournament run which saw him win 12 matches and lose just twice. Since then, however, he’s failed to win more than two matches in a row for the past six months. Norrie suffered a first-round defeat to Andrey Rublev in his most recent outing at the Beijing Open. The result means that the Englishman has now lost five of his last six overall. After receiving a bye in the round of 128, Norrie begins his Shanghai Masters campaign in this match.
