Jeffrey John Wolf vs Alexander Zverev Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Italian Open
by Kennedy Kechula | in Tennis Predictions
Unseeded JJ Wolf takes on 19th seed Alexander Zverev in the third round of the Rome Masters.. The winner of this outdoor clay court match will advance to the fourth round and face either third seed Daniil Medvedev or 31st seeded Bernabe Zapata Miralles, Wolf is making his debut in Rome and so far it's good for the American. He has won his opening two rounds without dropping a set. He beat 14th seed, Hubert Hurkacz to advance to this round and will be confident of upsetting another seeded player. Wolf has won 13 of the 22 matches he has played with four coming on clay. His form at the start of the season saw him make the fourth round at the Australian Open for the first time as well as make the semifinals in Dallas. This is his first match against Zverev.
Alexander Zverev is a former champion of the Rome Masters having won the title in 2017. He also made the final in 2018 and was a semifinalist here last season. The German has never lost a third-round match at the competition and will hope to keep that record intact as he slowly attempts to take charge of a rocky season. Zverev, who is struggling with his fitness after an injury-riddled 2022 campaign, has won 12 and lost 11 of the 23 matches he has played. This form has seen him drop out of the world's top 15 and is now currently 27th in the live rankings. He battled for three sets against David Goffin, coming back from a set down to win 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 and advance to this round. Five of Zverev's wins have come on clay, a surface he is comfortable on and where he so far has a winning record this season.
