Jaume Munar vs Thiago Monteiro Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Santiago Open

Unseeded players Jaume Munar and Thiago Monteiro will face off in the quarter finals of the Chile Open on Friday on an outdoor clay court. The two have played each other four times in the last three years and Munar has been victorious thrice. The winner here will advance to the semi finals to face either Nicolas Jarry (Special Exempt) or the qualifier Yannick Hanfmann. Munar shocked top seed Lorenzo Musetti to advance to this round, beating the Italian by straight sets of 6-4, 6-4. The Spaniard had won only one match before arriving in Santiago, where he has two wins and has already gone beyond his best-ever finish here which was the second round. He started the week ranked 66th in the world but he has since moved up to 62nd in the live ranking and can move further up to 57th if he makes it to the semifinals.

Thiago Monteiro has also struggled to start the new season but he has fared much better than Munar. The Brazilian number one has won six matches in total this year but he is yet to win three matches in a row. He defeated fifth seed Albert Ramos Vinolas 2-1 in the first round before dispatching the unseeded Marco Cecchinato also in three sets. Monteiro started the year among the world’s top 70 players but his unconvincing start to the season saw him plummet to a season-low 84th. He is however on an upward trajectory and is currently placed 76th in the live ranking and can move up to 72nd with a win over Munar. He has never gone past this round in his two previous appearances and will be keen to do so and make his first semifinal of the season.
