Jaume Munar vs Nicolás Jarry Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Santiago Open

World number 87 Nicolas Jarry bids to reach the final of his home Chile Open. He takes on Jaume Munar who began the week ranked 21 places above his opponent.  The winner will face either third seed Sebastian Baez or Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the final. Jarry has only won one ATP Tour final and that was on clay (the surface for this match) in Bastad four years ago. He's made a good start to 2023 and came through qualifying for the Australian Open to reach the second round, beating seeded Miomir Kecmanovic in the first round. Back on clay, Jarry got to the semi-finals in Rio with five wins (including victories over Lorenzo Musetti and Sebastian Baez) before being beaten by Carlos Alcaraz. His run to a second successive semi-final has seen him rise to 75th in the rankings.  This week has seen him beat fourth seeded Diego Schwartzman and in the last eight he had to come from behind to beat Yannick Hanfmann. He's had one previous match against Munar on the ATP Tour and won on clay in Cordoba two years ago. 

Jaume Munar has finally found some form after a poor start to the new year. He lost his first three matches of 2023 including a first round exit in the Australian Open to Dalibor Srvcina who was ranked 216th that week. The Spaniard finally got his first win of the new year on clay in Buenos Aires, though his opponent was ranked outside of the top 700. He then lost in straight sets to Francisco Cerundolo and only won three games. Munar lost in the first round in Rio last week but has improved this week in Santiago. He had a strange first round match against Alejandro Tabilo, winning the first set without dropping a game. Munar still had to go to a final set with the next two being decided by tie-breaks.  He then beat top seeded Lorenzo Musetti in straight sets. Another three-setter followed in the quarter finals as he beat Thiago Monteiro. Back Jarry to win this match.
