Jaume Munar vs Bernabe Zapata Miralles Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Swiss Open Gstaad

Unseeded Spanish pair Jaume Munar and Bernabe Zapata Miralles meet in the first round of the Swiss Open. This is a clay court tournament and the winner takes on either eighth seeded Joao Sousa or Alexander Ritschard in round two. Munar is the world number 68 but was as low as 105th in April. The Spanish player failed to qualify for the Swedish Open last week and has only won two of his last six matches. Clay is his best surface and in June, he won a Challenger Tour tournament in Italy (his second of the year) and a semi-final the week before. At Roland Garros, he lost in the second round to the seeded Diego Schwartzmann after leading by two sets to love. Before that, he beat the then world number 20 Nikoloz Basilashvili in Madrid  This is his first match against Miralles on the ATP Tour. They have met at lower levels with Munar 3-1 up.

Bernabe Zapata Miralles is ranked 88th but was 129th in February. He struggled on clay earlier in the year with three wins in 11 matches. That included a strange time in Marrakech where he lost to Vit Kopriva (ranked 165th at the time) in the qualfying rounds. He then got into the main draw as a lucky loser, drew Kopriva again and again was beaten. He didn't expect that when winning the first set of their qualifier 6-0. Better form did follow, including a run to the last 16 in Estoril and then won six matches in the French Open before losing to Alexander Zverev in the last 16. This month saw him in a Challenger Tour event in Germany where he lost in the last eight but then lost to the world number 172 Maximilian Marterer. The good news was he drew Kopriva again and beat him for the loss of two games. Munar is the more consistent player and unless Miralles finds the form he had in Paris, he can get the win.
