Jason Kubler vs Lorenzo Musetti Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Barcelona

The Barcelona Open is starting to take shape as we head into Round of 32 action with Lorenzo Musetti taking on Jason Murray Kubler on Wednesday afternoon. Ranked 20th in the world, Musetti comes into this tournament after an impressive showing at the Monte Carlo Masters less than two weeks ago. The Italian reached the quarter-final stages beating the likes of Miomir Kecmanovic in the tournament opener, but more impressively, he went on to topple Novak Djokovic in the Round of 16, beating the number one seed in a hard-fought three-set thriller. He eventually bowed out to Jannik Sinner the next round to record his third clay-court quarter-final exit for the year. Musetti had a solid clay court season last year with a record of 21-7, and he will want to improve his current 5-5 this year by going a few steps further than in his last couple of tournaments here in Barcelona. 

Jason Kubler also comes into this tournament off the back of two quarter-final appearances, though his came at the Sarasota Challenger event and in Houston at the start of the month. Across those tournaments, some of the notable wins Kubler managed came over Daniel Galan and Tung Lin Wu, while Francis Tiafoe and Tomas Machac proved too much for the Austrian, knocking him out of those respective tournaments. Here in Barcelona, Kubler beat Daniel Rincon in the previous round in straight sets (6-4 6-3). Kubler impressed on his return to the clay surface last year, ending the season with a record of 20-5, and has begun this year well, currently 5-2. However, he faces a tough opponent in Musetti and will need to pull off an upset if he is to extend his record in this one.
