Jasmine Paolini vs Clara Burel Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Warsaw
by Steve Ashfield | in Tennis Predictions
Jasmine Paolini is the tenth seed in the Poland Open. Only five of the 11 seeds remain and Paolini takes on unseeded Clara Burel. Paolini is the world number 58 but was a career high 44th five months ago. The Italian made a slow start to the year but form picked up with a quarter final in Lyon in March. That was followed by a win over Aryna Sabalenka at the Indian Wells tournament. Her clay court season didn't go well though with a run of four successive losses, though she had some tough draws. Her form on clay has picked up of late though with a quarter final and then a semi-final in Palermo last week. Her good form continued in round one of this tournament only losing two games when beating Danka Kovinic.
Clara Burel began this week ranked 131st but was a career high 74th in February. Losing the points from reaching the final in Lausanne last year hasn't helped her ranking. Burel hasn't had a good year with only one quarter final being reached. That was in a WTA 125 event held in Croatia with no top 100 players beaten. Only one of her last seven matches had been won before winning her first round match here. That welcome win came against Anna Schmiedlova in straight sets. It's a special week as her career earnings go through the $1m mark but it's Paolini who can get the win here to reach the last eight.
