Well done to anyone who predicted this as the final of the Miami Open. 21st seed Jannik Sinner takes on Hubert Hurkacz who is seeded five places below him. Both players are bidding to win their second tournament of the year but this is a Masters event, just below Grand Slam level. Sinner is the world number 31 and started 2021 just as he ended 2020 by winning a tournament. Last year was concluded with a win in Sofia and 2021 got off to a good start with a win in Melbourne. He didn't do so well in the Australian Open but the Italian reached the last eight in both Marseille and Dubai. This is his first time in the Miami Open and he's had some tough battles on the way to this final. The third round saw him have to come from behind to beat 14th seeded Karen Khachanov. After a straight sets win over 32nd seed Alexander Bublik, he beat number seven seed Roberto Bautista Agut in the last four. He lost the first set in that match and faces another tough battle here.

Hubert Hurkacz is in only his second ATP final, the previous one being two years ago. He is a player that can beat high ranked players when at his best. Dominic Thiem and Andrey Rublev were both beaten last year and the Pole has beaten some top seeds in this event. Like his opponent, 2021 began well with Hurkacz winning the Delray Beach Open. He reached the last eight in Melbourne but lost in the first round of the Australian Open. He didn't show much winning form after that so it's a surprise he has done so well in Miami. Wins have come against Denis Shapovalov, Milos Raonic, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Andrey Rublev. Whether he can keep up that great form for one more match remains to be seen. Go for over 22.5 games being played in this final.
