Eighth seeded Jannik Sinner takes on unseeded Diego Schwartzman in the Wimbledon second round. The Italian reached the quarter finals at Wimbledon last year, one of three last eight appearances in Grand Slam tournaments. Sinner started this grass court Grand Slam tournament ranked eighth in the world but there's a big gap to Andrey Rublev in seventh place. In the Live ATP Race, Sinner is in seventh place so in with a good chance of making the end of season ATP Tour finals. The 21-year-old had lost his first two matches at Wimbledon before his run to the last eight in 2022. He beat Carlos Alcaraz in the last 16 and led Novak Djokovic two sets to love in the quarter finals before the eventual champion fought back. Sinner played two grass court warm-up events and reached the quarter final in both of them. He's haf three previous matches against Schwartzman winning all of them without dropping a set. This is the first time he's met the Argentinian on a grass court. The first round saw him comfortably defeat Juan Manuel Cerundolo, only dropping six games.

This time last year, Diego Schwartzman was the 12th seed at Wimbledon, just two places below Sinner. He arrived at Wimbledon this year ranked 98th in the world. The Argentinian is also at that position in the Live ATP Race at the time of writing this preview. It's been a poor year for Schwartzman with only eight wins from his 24 ATP Tour events this year. He got his ninth win with a victory over Miomir Kecmanovic for the loss of only seven games. Only twice has he made it to the third round at Wimbledon, the last time being in 2021. He played the Queen's Club grass court tournament and lost to eventual runner-up Alex de Minaur in the seond round, winning just four games. We go for Sinner to win this match in straight sets.
