Jan-Lennard Struff vs Sebastian Baez Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Monte Carlo Masters

Only nine players have earned more ranking points than Sebastian Baez this year. He takes on Jan-Lennard Struff in the first round of the Monte Carlo Masters. The winner has a second round match against either Borna Coric or the 16th seed Alexander Bublik. It's a tough draw as Jannik Sinner is the likely third round opponent in this clay court tournament. This is a surface that Baez loves playing on and he's already won two titles on this year. He won the tournament in Rio and then followed that up with another triumph in Santiago  Those titles (and a quarterfinal in Buenos Aires and last four appearance in Cordoba have seen him rise to 19th in the rankings. He's won 14 of his 16 matches played on clay this year. A win here will see him finally win a match in Monte Carlo after losing in round one in the past two years.

Jan-Lennard Struff is 25th in the live rankings and is facing Baez for the first time in his career. The German is playing his first clay court tournament of the year but would love to repeat his form shown in last year's tournament. Struff got to the last eight having previously not making it past the third round of this Masters 1000 tournament. This year has seen him not get past the last 16 and he's yet to win more than two games in a tournament. Struff did get to the final in Madrid last year but he's not in that kind of form at present.
