The winner of this first-rounder will then advance to play either fourth-seed Hubert Hurkacz or unseeded Dusan Lajovic. Jan-Lennard Struff has lost his last four matches. The last three have been his tournament openers. In his last outing, he lost in three sets to Hugo Gaston in the second round in Antwerp. Struff is a one-time Basel quarterfinalist. The German, ranked 26th in the live ranking, is having his best season since winning 50 games in 2016. Christopher Eubanks is also enduring a difficult run of form and has won only three of his last 10 matches. The American, who is yet to win on indoor hard courts this season, has lost his last two matches. He lost on an indoor hard court in Stockholm in his last fixture to Pavel Kotov. Eubanks is well on course to setting his best-ever win record. But first, he has to get back to the form that saw him dominate on grass. The 27-year-old has won 39 matches thus far and is just four wins away from last season’s career-best tally of 43. He starts the week up three places to 31st in the live ranking.
