Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson Prediction & Betting Tips - Heavyweight Boxing Match
by Ian John | in Predictions
Mike Tyson and Jake Paul will face off in Texas at the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium in the early hours of Saturday morning. This heavyweight contest will see eight two minute rounds as Paul continues his boxing career by taking on the 58-year-old former World Champion. Will Iron Mike roll-back the years or will The Problem Child improve his record to 11-1? Let’s check our prediction for this unusual boxing match.
The latest in a series of exhibition bouts pits former YouTuber turned boxing professional Jake Paul against one of the true legends of the sport in Mike “The Baddest Man on the Planet” Tyson. Paul is 31 years Tyson’s junior and comes into the bout with a 10-1 record, albeit claimed against a mix of content creators, MMA fighters and boxers with somewhat questionable credentials for the most part.
His opponent, Mike Tyson, is a legend of the sport and a former undisputed heavyweight world champion who retired with a 50-6 record. His last bout was an exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr in November 2020, which finished in a split draw. Tyson officially retired from boxing back in 2005.
Jake Paul comes into this fight 31 years younger than his opponent and the favourite to win. His 10-1 record as a professional has been amassed against a mix of Content Creators, Basketball players and MMA stars. He has boxed just three times against professional boxers.
After beating a content creator (AnEsonGib), Basketball player (Nate Robinson) and three MMA fighters (Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley (twice) and Anderson Silva), Paul faced his first boxer.
He lost to Tommy Fury by split decision in February 2023.
Since then he has beaten MMA stars Nate Diaz and Mike Perry. In between those bouts he secured two first round wins over journeyman cruiserweights Andre August (10-2-1) and Ryan Bourland (17-3). He defeated Perry by TKO in the sixth round of his last bout back in July 2024.
Mike Tyson’s first professional fight since 2005 will see the 58 year old lace up the gloves almost 20 years since his last professional fight.
That was a sixth-round loss to Kevin McBridge in June 2005.
That was Tyson’s third defeat in four fights after losses to Lennox Lewis and Danny Williams.
He has fought Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition bout, which ended in a convenient draw between the two boxing legends, back in 2020. He has been back in training for some time for this bout and in training seems to show plenty of the power and intensity that made him a superstar in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Jake Paul & Mike Tyson Squad Analysis
Both fighters seem to be in good shape heading into the fight, although it should be mentioned that Tyson withdrew from the original July 2024 date due to an inflamed ulcer. Jake Paul has won his last four bouts, two against boxing professionals, albeit both cruiserweights. He will be stepping up to heavyweight once again for this bout, although Tyson is one of the smaller heavyweights.
However, Paul’s sole defeat came at heavyweight.
The 27-year-old has shown plenty of power in his punches in some of his victories, with a number of first round knockouts on his resume. However, he will not want to get into a brawl with Tyson early in the fight and may elect to use his youth and stamina to his advantage to tire his much-older opponent.
For Tyson, aged 58, he knows that stamina is not to his advantage here, even though he has trained hard for this bout.
However, the one thing a fighter loses last in his weaponry is his punching power. Tyson had that in his prime at a level that few of the best heavyweights in the world could deal with.
That’s hitting power of a scale that Paul has never faced in his career.
Tyson’s chances seem to be better suited to him getting at Paul early in the bout and trying to pound the inexperienced fighter into defeat early. The longer the fight goes on, the more likely it will be the younger opponent who stands the chance of victory.

Our Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson Prediction
Our prediction for the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson Heavyweight Boxing match is: Mike Tyson to win in Rounds 1 or 2.
Given the vast age difference between the two fighters, Mike Tyson will know his best chance to win this bout is to take Paul out early. Tyson hasn't got the stamina to box eight two minute rounds against a vastly younger opponent. However, Tyson retains his punching power and speed, at least early in the fight, so an early knockout win in Round One or Two for the former World Heavyweight Champion looks a good bet.
