Jack Draper is one of the rising stars in tennis. He was 272nd in the rankings at the end of last August but his first round win over Emil Ruusuvouri has him into the top 50 in the live rankings. He's never made the third round of a Grand Slam and has a tough task here as he faces the sixth seeded Felix Auger-Aliassime. The winner of this match takes on either 27th seeded Karen Khachanov or Thiego Monteiro in the last 32. Draper is only 20 years ago and a fine prospect. He's already had wins this year over Stefanos Tsitsipas and Gael Monfils and reached the last eight in the recent Montreal Masters. Four titles have been won by Draper on the Challenger Tour this year. His days of playing on that lower level circuit are over now.

Felix Auger-Aliassime began the week ranked a career high eighth in the world but is down to 12th in the live list. That's because he's defending all the points earned last year when reaching the semi-finals of the US Open. He followed that up with a quarter final in the 2022 Australian Open and the fourth round at Roland Garros. However, he lost to Maxime Cressy in the first round of Wimbledon so will be hoping for a much better run in New York. He's bounced back well from that early loss at Wimbledon and has reached the semi-finals in Los Cabos and the last eight in the Montreal and Cincinnati Masters with wins over Cameron Norrie, Jannik Sinner and Alex de Minaur. The first round of this US Open saw him get the better of qualifier Alexander Ritschard in four sets.  Back him to get the win here.
