Third seed Alex de Minaur is well on course to defend his Mexican Open title. He will be up against Jack Draper in the semifinals in his next assignment. He won in three sets, coming back from losing the first set 6-1. de Minaur is having a super campaign and has won 12 of the 16 matches he has played. He made the Rotterdam final in February and this allowed him to break into the ATP top 10 for the first time. The 25-year-old has since dropped out and is ranked 13th in the live ranking after losing 300 ranking points. Winning this event for a second successive time will see him return right back into the top 10. de Mianur has defeated Draper both times they have met.
