Ivo Karlović vs Dominic Thiem Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Indian Wells
by Steve Ashfield | in ATP Indian Wells Predictions
Dominic Thiem is ranked eighth in the world but seeded seventh at Indian Wells in the absence of Juan Martin del Potro. He's won both of his matches in straight sets and only dropped four games when defeating Gilles Simon in the last 32. This hasn't been his most successful tournament in the past and if winning this match, he'll reach only his second quarter-final at Indian Wells, the other being in 2017. He's had a relatively quiet year so far with his best performance being a semi-final on his favourite clay at the Argentina Open in February.
Ivo Karlovic is unseeded for this tournament and ranked 89th in the world. He's 6 foot 11 inches high is Karlovic and he's reached the last 16 here at the age of 40 and has yet to drop a set. His matches have been close though with four tie-breaks. Karloivic beat 11th seeded Borna Coric in the second-round. His year began well with a run to the final of a tournament in India losing to Kevin Anderson. However, he didn't beat any player ranked above 95 to get through to that final. He'd lost his last four matches before this tournament and this should be a straightforward win for Thiem.

Our Ivo Karlović vs Dominic Thiem Prediction
Dominic Thiem has had two straightforward wins to reach the last 16. He takes on the 40-year-old Ivo Karlovic who turned pro in 2000 when his opponent was only seven years old. Thiem has had a fairly quiet year so far with one good performance in Argentina. The season is starting to hot up though and he can beat Karlovic to reach only his second quarter-final at this tournament.
