Italy - USA: Form Analysis
Italy emerged as the top-ranked team during the group stages as they stormed to the top of Pool A and were the only team to earn all nine points on offer in their three matches. They only lost two sets, which was the fewest of any team in the competition.
Gli Azzurri overcame Brazil, Egypt and Poland in the pool stages before edging past Japan 3-2 in the quarter-final. However, they were well below their best in the semis where they came up against France and folded to a 3-0 loss.

Torey DeFalco will be looking to make amends in this match. DeFalco has been the American's best hitter here in Paris but failed to score a single point with his first seven swings against Poland in the semis.
However, Matt Anderson caught the eye in the last match, especially in set two when he killed seven of his first 10 swings and he will be one to watch in this match. Taylor Averill and Max Holt will also be very important for the US in the middle of the floor.
