Italy vs Germany Prediction & Betting Tips - United Cup

Italy faces Germany in Group D of the United Cup. The other team in this group are France so it's going to be a very competitive battle to get into the quarter finals. The group winners and the best runner-up in each of the two cities the groups are being played in will qualify for the last eight. Italy's squad is not as strong as it could be for this team tournament. They are without Jannik Sinner and their top ranked men's singles player is Lorenzo Sonego. Representing them in the women's singles will be world number 30 Jasmine Paolini. 

The Germans do look to have a team more likely to go far in this tournament. Their top men's singles player is world number seven Alexander Zverev who won two titles in the 2023 season with one of them being won on a hard court which is the surface this event is being played on. Zverev fought his way back into the top ten during 2023 and is our tip to win his singles match against Lorenzo Sonego. He's won both of his matches against Sonego including one played on a hard court in March of this year. The women's singles match could be a tight affair. Paolini reached a final in October but had a disappointing time in the Grand Slam events winning just one match and that was on clay. Angelique Kerber has a protected ranking of 31st. This tournament marks her return to tennis after being off court due to giving birth earlier this year. Germany look stronger in the doubles department if this tie goes to a deciding match. We tip Germany to get the win over Italy.
