When the draw for this group was made, it looked certain to be dominated by heavyweights Spain and Italy. Four games in they are first and second in the group both on ten points but are only a point clear of third placed Israel, The Israeli's have already lost at home to Italy and play Spain this weekend. With a Spanish win fully expected, this game gives Italy a good chance to go four points clear of third place and fight it out with Spain for top spot. Italy have won three of their four games, the other being a home draw with Spain. Their other three games have all been away and the Italians have won them all scoring ten goals in the process.  Albania did well at Euro 2016 but a trip to Russia isn't looking likely next year. They are down in fourth place after two wins and two draws and four points behind Italy. Defeat here will almost certainly end any hopes they have of reaching their first ever World Cup Finals. Three of their four games in this group have been at home with defeats by Spain and Israel and a win over Macedonia. Their only away game has seen them win 2-0 in Leichtenstein. Italy can win this on a -1 handicap.
