by Steve Ashfield | in Six Nations Predictions
Defending Six Nations champions Ireland host Wales this weekend. The home side are top of the table after two impressive wins over France and Italy and now face Wales who are in fourth place. Ireland won the Grand Slam last year and are in a great position to do so again. Wales continue to struggle and have lost both of their matches in this season's Six Nations championship to Scotland and England.Limited Offer. Currently at DraftKings

Ireland - Wales: Form Analysis
Ireland top the Six Nations table by two points from England after the first two matches of this year's championship. They got off to a great start this tournament with a 38-17 win away at France. That followed a disappointing Rugby World Cup and showed they are still a force despite the retirement of Jonny Sexton. They followed up that win in Paris with a 36-0 home win over Italy. Those two victories have left them with a points difference of +57 which is 52 higher than any other of the five countries in the Six Nations. The Irish side have won 20 of their last 21 internationals, the other being their Rugby World Cup quarter final loss to New Zealand last year. They are bidding to make it 11 wins in a row in the Six Nations and last lost at home in this competition to France in 2021. Results against Wales have been good with six of the last seven being won.
Wales are in danger of their main aim in this Six Nations being to avoid winning the wooden spoon for finishing bottom. They made a terrible start to this year's campaign when losing the first half of their home game against Scotland 20-0 and then conceding another try and conversion early in the second half. Wales made a great comeback but still lost the match 27-26. Up next for them was a trip to Twickenham to face England and they gave away a 14-5 half-time lead to lose 16-14. The Welsh side have only won one of their last four internationals and nine of their last ten in the Six Nations with only Italy beaten.
