Ireland and Scotland meet at the Aviva Stadium in their final match of this year’s Guinness Six Nations. The hosts are in second position with 16 points while the visitors are in fourth position with 10 points. Ireland beat England 32-15 in their last match but were helped substantially by the red card given to an England player in the second minute of the match. The Irish still have an outside chance of winning the title but will need England to do them a favour and beat the French in Paris. If the match in Paris ends in a draw and Ireland win with a bonus point then they will be crowned champions. The final score in the last match flattered Ireland as the score was 15-15 in the last quarter before they scored two late tries. The most worrying aspect for Ireland was how their scrum was pulverized by England.
Scotland are coming of a 33-22 win over Italy in their last match but will need a vast improvement if they are to beat this Irish team. They looked lethargic and lacked cohesion especially in attack but still found a win to win against Italy. Ireland will pose a new set of questions for them with the Scots last tasting victory in Dublin back in the 2010 season. They will need their two world class players Stuart Hogg and Finn Russell to be at their best to have any chance of causing an upset. Scotland are currently on the same number of points as England and if they get any result that is better than the English they will finish third.
