Tour of Flanders Predictions & Betting tips - UCI

The Tour of Flanders or De Ronde, as it is known locally, is arguably the greatest one-day race in the cycling calendar. It has the potential to be historic this year so let's take a look at some of the major names ahead of making a prediction.
Winner of the race in 2023 was Tadej Pogacar. He has been the number one ranked rider in world cycling for three and a half years straight, a triple winner of the Tour de France, His climbing ability helps on the sharp punchy hills of this course which he gets up quicker than anyone.
Mathieu van der Poel is one of seven men who has won De Ronde on three occasions. They came in 2020, 2022 and 2024, runner-up in both 2021 and 2023. He beat Pogacar in the Milan-San Remo race on March 22, a contest that boiled down to him being able to outsprint his rival.
The third big gun is Mads Pederson who won the Gent-Wevelgerm last Sunday with a huge solo attack 55km from the finish. Wout van Aert has not been at his best so far in 2025, finishing 2nd, 4th and 6th in this over the last five years. He was 2nd in the Dwars door Vlaanderen on Wednesday.
At enormous odds, it's worth giving a mention to the young Brit Fred Wright. 7th in this race in 2022 and 8th in 2023, he picked up a recent top 10 finish in Milan-San Remo. An unlikely winner but he could be in the leading bunch late on.

Tour of Flanders - UCI prediction key points
- No rider has ever won this race four times, dating back to the first edition in 1913. Six have won three so Mathieu van der Poel has history against him.
- Tadej Pogacar has been ranked the number one rider in the world for 184 straight weeks.
- In their last five meetings in one-day races, Pogacar has beaten van der Poel on four occasions.
- UAE Team Emirates has the strongest team in world cycling for Tadej Pogacar. Alpecin Deceuninck is only 8th in support of van der Poel.

Our Tour of Flanders - UCI prediction
On paper, this looks like a match between Tadej Pogacar and Mathieu van der Poel. A lot is going to come down to how many are left after the climbs are behind them. While van der Poel is looking to make history as the first man to win this four times, Pogacar simply has the firepower in his team.
He has the 3rd, 4th and 5th from the 2024 race all in his team as well as another pair who have finished 12th. That strength in depth should allow Pogacar to have things set up perfectly for him. Our Tour de Flanders prediction is Tadej Pogacar to win.
