Indianapolis Colts vs Los Angeles Chargers Prediction & Betting Tips - NFL

Monday Night Football in the NFL sees an AFC battle when the playoff hopeful Los Angeles Chargers head to Indianapolis to take on the Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Chargers are coming off back-to-back wins after their 17-14 victory over the Titans last weekend. They’ve now won three of their last four at a crucial time in the season to boost their record up to eight wins and six defeats as they have now moved into a playoff position if the season were to end today. It’s important for LA to keep up their good run of form and not or they could risk missing out on the postseason in the final few weeks of the regular season.

Standing in their way for this game is a Colts team that has had an eventful last few weeks. They gave up 54 points to the Cowboys which included a stunning 33 point fourth quarter and then followed that up with the largest blown lead in NFL history after leading 33-0 against the Vikings, in which they would eventually lose 39-36. Indianapolis have now lost their last four consecutive games and seven of their last eight in what has been a hugely disappointing season. The Colts have won four, lost nine and tied once, putting them third in the AFC South. 

The big news in this game is that the Colts will switch from veteran quarterback Matt Ryan to another veteran in Nick Foles. Ryan has not been good this year while Foles is making his first start of the season. The betting public may see the Colts turning to their third-string quarterback and think that makes this an easy bet on the Chargers but things might not be that simple. Foles is still only 33 years and is a competent starter as he has shown over the years. With the way Matt Ryan has been playing this season, we are not convinced this is much of a downgrade at the position, if any at all.
