India - England Squad Analysis
Rohit Sharma played a blinding innings at the top of the order for India in the last match and will need to give them another big start here with Virat Kohli largely struggling for form.
Kohli earned an unwanted record in the last game, matching former India fast bowler Ashish Nehra as the only players who have been dismissed for two ducks in a single edition of T20 World Cups.
Arshdeep Singh is now up to second place in the leading wicket-taker standings with 15, one behind Afghanistan’s Fazalhaq Farooqi.
When these sides met in the semi-final in 2022, Jos Buttler played a starring role and posted a record partnership with Alex Hales to take his side to victory.
The England captain had the perfect warm-up for this match, scoring an unbeaten 83 against the US in the last match, and he was supported well by the ultra-consistent Phil Salt.
Chris Jordan made a massive contribution in the match with the US, taking a stunning catch late in the innings before picking up a hat-trick to wrap up the hosts’ tailenders and secure the victory.
India - England Form Analysis
For India, this match represents more than just a chance to reach the T20 World Cup final.
It is an opportunity for the side to exact revenge after they were beaten by this opponent in this very same match during the 2022 edition, which England went on to win.
Intriguingly, that was also the last time that these two fierce competitors faced each other in a T20 international in any competition, meaning this matchup has been a full two years in the making.
Along with South Africa, the Men in Blue are the only other side that have not lost a match in this year’s competition and had the perfect preparation, beating the ODI champions Australia in the last match.
With that result, India are now unbeaten in their last 12 T20Is in all competitions.
The last time Rohit Sharma’s side lost a twenty-over match was in December last year, which was against the Proteas, who they could meet in the final.
However, standing in their way are the defending champions, who have somehow fought their way to reach this stage of the competition.
England were on the verge of elimination in the group stage but snuck through ahead of Scotland owing to a better run rate. They were in a similar position in the Super Eight but got a helping hand from the South Africans who beat West Indies, allowing England to finish second.
In their last ten T20 internationals, the Three Lions have posted a record of six wins, two losses and two no-results.
The all-time head-to-head record between these sides shows that India have been marginally more successful, winning 12 of the 23 encounters, while England have won 11.

Phil Salt Over 20.5
The England opener has returned for us in four matches already in this competition and ended the last match unbeaten on 25 runs. While Buttler has been the main act in the last few games for England, Salt’s consistency since the IPL has been remarkable and we expect another solid knock from him in this one.
