India vs Australia Prediction & Betting Tips - ODI Bilateral Series
by Devesh Jaganath | in Cricket Predictions
India and Australia will meet for the third and final ODI of the series on Wednesday morning at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The series hangs in the balance at 1-1, and both sides will have their eyes firmly set on securing what will be a famous series win. India was superb in the Border-Gavaskar test and blew away their opponents with their strong spin attack, which dominated the final two tests. They carried that form into the first ODI with a strong win, bowling the Aussies out for just 188 in 35.4 overs and going on to win by 5 wickets and 61 balls to spare. However, it was a different story in the second match, where only four Indian batsmen managed to register double-digit scores. India will need to improve on their batting display in this one to stand a chance against a fierce pace attack.
Australia bounced back incredibly from that first ODI defeat in fine style, with Mitchell Starc leading the pace attack. The left-armer picked up a fifer in his 10 overs, supported by Sean Abbott and Nathan Ellis, who picked up the remaining five between them, leaving their side a meager 117 to chase down, which Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head managed to accomplish in just 11 overs. Australia has not won an ODI series against India in over a decade and has gotten themselves into the perfect position to end that record in this match, which will give them momentum going into the T20s. However, they will know that the hosts will be in no mood to give up their stellar home record without a fight.

Our India vs Australia Prediction
Australia dealt a major blow to the Indian team's confidence in the last match by handing them one of their heaviest defeats in the last few years. However, that was largely due to their pace attack, which received lots of help on the Mumbai pitch. Heading to Chennai, the pitch is a little slower, which should play into the hands of the batsmen, and this is where India shines. It should be another exhilarating encounter, but we fancy the hosts to come out on top. Our India v Australia prediction is a win for the hosts.
