Iga Swiatek vs Sara Sorribes Tormo Prediction & Betting Tips - United Cup

World number one Iga Swiatek takes on Sara Sorribes Tormo in the United Cup. This is a Group A match between Poland and Spain and Swiatek will be hoping to get her team into the knockout stages for the second time in a row. Swiatek has already played one match in this hard court team event. That was against Brazil's Beatriz Haddad Mai and Swiatek was in good form winning the match 6-2 6-2. The win continued the excellent form she showed at the end of the 2023 season. Her last tournament was the WTA Finals and winning that tournament took the Pole back to the top of the world rankings. That tournament saw her win five matches with no sets dropped and only 20 games dropped. Before that she'd won the China Open and her win over Maia made it 12 wins in a row with just one set being lost. 

On her way to winning the China Open, Swiatek faced Tormo in the first round and beat her in straight sets for the loss of seven games. The Spaniard is ranked 48th in the world which is 16 places below the career high she achieved last year. There are ranking points available in this tournament and a win over Swiatek will take her up to 44th. Tormo has played one singles match in this United Cup already. Spain beat Brazil 2-1 in their opening match but Tormo was beaten in straight sets by Beatriz Haddad Maia but did get a win in the deciding mixed doubles match. Three of her last four singles matches have been lost and Tormo needs to rediscover the form that saw her win the Tennis in the Land tournament in August. We don't expect that and tip Swiatek to win in straight sets.
