World number one Iga Swaitek continues her Wimbledon campaign on Wednesday against world number 84 Sara Sorribes Tormo. The winner of this match will face the winner of the tie between 30th seed Petra Martic and unseeded Diane Parry. Iga Swiatek lost only four games in her straight-sets win over Zhu Lin to begin the tournament. This was her 39th win of the season and extended her unbeaten run to 11 matches. The Czech made her grass debut in Bad Homburg where she made it to the semifinals before withdrawing from the tournament. She has won three titles so far including defending her French Open crown. Swiatek is making her fourth Wimbledon appearance. Her best finish was achieved in 2021 when she made the fourth round.

Sara Sorribes Tormo is making her season debut on grass at the All England Club. She also won her opening-round match against Martina Trevisan by straight sets of 6-3, 6-1. This moved the Spaniard, who is playing on a protected ranking, up one place to 83rd in the live ranking. Tormo has played only 21 matches this year as she had a belated start to the season due to injury. She missed the hard-court campaign and started things off on clay. The 26-year-old has been victorious 14 times thus far. Her win over Trevisan was her eighth at Wimbledon in what is her eighth appearance at the major. Tormo has never progressed past this round but will hope this is the year she finally goes over the hump.
