Iga Swiatek vs Qinwen Zheng Prediction & Betting Tips - Women's Olympic Tournament

Top seed Iga Swiatek and sixth seed Qinwen Zheng will meet in the semi-finals at the Paris Olympics on Thursday. Read on for our preview and a prediction for the match.

Iga Swiatek is a huge favourite to claim gold at this year’s Summer Games. The world number one is an exceptional clay performer and has an incredible streak at Roland Garros. Swiatek has won the last three French Open titles, meaning she hasn’t lost in Paris since a quarter-final defeat in 2021.

The 23-year-old overcame the challenge of American Danielle Collins in the quarter-finals. Their third showdown of the year saw all three sets played but unfortunately for Collins, she was forced to retire due to injury. Swiatek has put up an incredible 51-5 record and won 25 of 26 matches on clay. Two of her 51 wins have come against Zheng, extending her record in this fixture to 6-0.

Qinwen Zheng is in splendid form and will hope her current run inspires her past Swiatek. The Chinese number one has won her last nine matches, all of which have been on clay. Zheng arrived in Paris after winning the Palermo Ladies Open to claim her first title of the year.

That momentum has carried her through in her Summer Games debut. The world number seven also had herself a tough quarter-final duel – against Olympic silver medalist Angelique Kerber. Their second career battle saw all three sets played after Kerber had claimed the opening set.

Zheng has now won 30 of 42 matches this year and has registered 15 of those wins on clay. The winner here will play Anna Karolina Schmiedlova, Marta Kostyuk or Donna Vekic in the gold medal match
